The farm was established in 1968, when Odorico acquired a portion of land he had been working throughout his life as a share-cropper. The land is located between Pedemonte and Cengia, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Odorico conveyed his passion about the cultivation of vineyards to his first son Daniele, who also begins to experiment the art of wine making. At the same time, Daniele worked as a stone mason, and in 1994 he completed the construction of what is now Corte Odorico, a tuff-made farm-house and our beloved family home. Daniele’s vision for the house includes a cellar, a tasting room, and a granary (space for the appassimento) for the natural air drying process of the Amarone grapes.

In 2009, the third generation joined in as Nicodemo completed his studies in enology, thus creating Corte Odorico winery. With this name, we want to celebrate Nonno Odorico, his original bond with the land, his work as a farmer, and his silently immense personality as a father and grandfather.
Odorico was kind, he cared about people and their well-being. He was a tireless farmer and worked his land till his lates 80s, celebrating for every grape brought to the harvest. His presence was subtle but magnanimous.
We hope that feeling of kindness and joy / delight / bliss / contentment is passed along in your stay.
Harvest is rigorously performed manually by friends and family, and it is still seen as a family gathering tradition.
In the 2-steps harvest, we first select the best grape-bunches, which will be go through the drying appassimento process. The second step, the appassimento, takes place over about three months, where sugars and flavors will concentrate to originate our characteristics wines: Amarone, Ripasso, and Recioto.
The winery is the result of a fusion of tradition, given by Daniele, and innovation, brought by his son Nicodemo bound by the passion for wine and for the respect and care of this wonderful land.

About

A f a m i l y h u g

Corte Odorico was always a meeting place for friends and family. Growing up our door was always open for an extra friend or a visiting acquaintance. Our mum, Cristina was always generous with her innate hosting ability, her curiosity and amazing ability to entertain, making guests feel home.
Lately, we felt the need of including a space dedicated to hospitality, to provide wine centered experience in Valpolicella Classica. As such, in 2021 we completed the construction of our Monte Baldo and Verona flats, taking their name from the views that can be enjoyed from the large windows. Completely surrounded by vineyards, the apartments offer themselves as a space for rest and tranquility. Here, our guests can immerse themselves in nature while enjoying the closeness to Verona (8 km) and Lake Garda (20 km).
